Video Mixer

Edirol V440HD

With the capability to input 4 SD video sources and 4 HD or RGB video sources, the V-440HD enables seamless mixing and switching of multi-format video signals. With a single unit allowing images with different aspect ratios (16:9 or 4:3), the V-440HD can also be used as an independent SD mixer or HD/RGB mixer. Add various effects like PinP, 2 Keyers or transitions and it’s easy to see how this unit becomes the center of all your multi-format video production.

Himmelreich KHi 80280 VDM 4

Review of the KHi 80280 VDM 4 Himmelreich Video-Digital-Bildmischer
I bought this Videomixer from Ebay for 48 € and was told the BNC- Inputs wouldn´t work and some cables had been pulled out of the solderings. So first thing I did was fixing them and now the Himmelreich VDM4 works perfectly.

Roland Edirol V8

Edirol V8 is aimed to take place between very popular V4 and a bit more 'high end' V440 HD. It's construction is based on V4 however many improvements have been made, which seem to meet expectations of potential customers (people who cannot afford V440 but have 'outgrown' v4) very well.
Let's take a qucik look around.
Basic conception of the mixer is very similar to V4 (using buttons to sellect inputs assigned to busses A an B), but there are some new things:

Sony Anycast AWS-G500

Well heres my deal with this over priced piece of junk tested this out for a few hours,..

Panasonic MX-30

This mixer is a two input mixer similar to the older model MX-12. It offers some different features, but lacks a few as well. See MX-12 review for basic info on this mixer line.

The plus points compared to a MX-12 are:
- joystick has double functionality (positioner and colour correction)
- color correction can be used on both channels
- more wipe patterns
- digital effects can be assigned to both channels
- a/v synchro for digital effects

Korg KrossFour Mixer

The Krossfour is a Four Input mixer based on the basic design of the Korg Entrancer - the same metal styled case is used and includes an input and some controls of the front ala the Entrancer. At 185mm (W) x 249mm (D) x 75mm (H) its about a third smaller than an Edirol V4.Some of the unique features of the Krossfour are the dj mixer styled cross fader with curve adjustment. It features Black, White, Chroma and Luma Keying between channels. Other than that its a simple 4 channel mixer with TBC on each channel.

Panasonic P0039

After a disastrous gig that finished with my prototype Edirol av mixer showering the front half of the dancefloor at Cargo with warm fruit pulp, I decided to look for a tried and tested replacement mixing solution.
One ebay search :"panasonic Mixer" later and I was hooking up the old vhs decks to this streamlined design classic.

Being one of the older Panasonic mixers, you don't get internal timebase correction, but this 70's gem is still capable of smooth blends between two fruit or vegetable sauces.

Vivanco VM 3000

Yep, here we go. Let's see... the Vivanco VM 300 is labeled as a "Trickmischer" and, as luck would have it, it is really tricky to get this piece of hardware working.
