JunXion is a very useful tool that allows any USB game controller to be used as a Midi control device. It supports up to eight devices and also allows Keyboard and mouse to be used as midi controllers if you don't already have a tool for that.
The real beauty of this is the possiblitys for all the oddball game controllers that can now be used for VJ purposes, eg what about using a P5 glove for VJ'ing? (http://www.essentialreality.com/p5_glove.asp)
The hercules DJ console (http://us.hercules.com/products/showpage.php?p=87&b=0&f=1) shows up as a USB game controller when plugged in to a mac so Junxion allows this to be used with any VJ app.
JunXion is very flexible, it allows any sensor from the device to send midi note on/off, continuous controller, after touch or pitchbend midi signals. It also allows them to send absolute, velocity or "pump" modes.
JunXion seems very stable and to use very little CPU resources, I've been using it in live performance to hook up my DJ Console to Pixelshox and had no crashes or issues with it.
There is a demo version you can use to test if it can read from your device, I'd love to hear about what oddball devices you are using to VJ with, please post your tales below!
Highly recommended.
