This program lets you use any wacom compatible tablet as a midi controller, which can be used with most VJing software, as well audio and other software.
For midi tab to be useful for software you must use a program like midiyoke or maple midi (will write review later) so you can route the midi out of midi tab to another piece of software. i have writen a guide on how to do posted here on vjcentral.

the interface is simple, with all of the main options available in the one screen. you can select the master midi output and channel to any hardware or software midi inputs. the midi rate is the 'rate' at which it refreshes the midi signal.
you can also select how the mouse buttons effects the normal and alternate stylus, with button locks you press the button once to switch between the two modes, in button shifts you must hold the button down to use the alternate mode and when you let go it will return to normal mode.

For each device (pen or mouse) you can set what midi controller each axis sends. for a normal graphire 3 pen you have 3 axis, presure, X axis and Y axis, but for different tablets you can have different axis, depending on the quality and functions of the tablet.

The edit set list lets you set which part of the device (pen or mouse) you are asigning. the basic options are:

tip stylus
eraser stylus
mouse

For each of these you can have an alternate options, which you can change but pressing or holding the stylus/mouse button, depending on the button locks/button shifts option.

For each axis you can set a few options the all important controller number , as well as the max and min out put of the controller, and the granularity. the granularity sets the 'steps' that the out put sends it in, eg; if you have it set to 5 the output will make steps of 5 each time, starting with 0, then to 5, 10, 15, 20 etc.

The load and save buttons are what you would expect, except when you save settings it does not save the midi out, so you must set that each time you start the program.
